Film: Double Vision
Private investigating has been the McComb family business for generations, and brothers Mark and Nick carry on that tradition by working as investigators under the direction of their less-than-scrupulous father, Jack. But tensions are mounting within the family as Mark, the older brother, becomes increasingly hostile toward the business and the way Jack runs it while Jack is turning his eye toward Nick as the brother to take over the reins of the business once he retires.
Against this backdrop, the firm is approached by the supposed wife of U.S. Senator Frank Young, who is fighting out a very close re-election campaign. The woman claiming to be Frank’s wife suspects he is cheating on her and hires the brothers to conduct video and audio surveillance both inside and outside Frank’s upscale, urban apartment during a weekend she’ll be out of town.
So the brothers set to work, on what is to be Mark’s last job before leaving the business and moving out of town. But while staking-out Frank’s corner apartment, the brothers - along with Nick’s good-hearted, fair-minded fiancé Allison - bear witness to, and record on tape, what they suspect to be a murder at an apartment two buildings down from Frank’s.
This sets off a dramatic chain of events that lead the brothers, Allison, and Linda - Frank’s vivaciously sexy, astutely observant ex-wife who lives below him - on a mission to uncover the truth, both about what happened two buildings down from Frank and also about who really hired the McComb brothers to document Frank’s unconventional lifestyle. Uncovering both these truths forces the four to confront the scandalous side of human nature, as they come to terms with deep-seated lies, high-level public deceptions, dark McComb family secrets, and the desperate depths two people will go to cover-up murder.
